Update: Not surprising, nobody called and the reply reflects the lack of interest and system of the management! We tried this restaurant after it opened back at few months ago in a 4* Rotana hotel. Having been in Dubai for many years, we go out several times a week. After eating at the obvious places such as Ernst, Sisi‘s etc we wanted to try the newcomer we read about on social media. When we entered the restaurant, we were surprised that except us there was only one table occupied and two guys drinking a beer on a sunday at lunch hour. Probably this is due to the dark interior and only indoor space as ie Ernst has a huge terrace. When we tried to order beer, we were told that they ran out of regular Germam beer but only have Weissbier draft or Heineken. OK… so no beer it was. Both the waitress as well as the beer waiter were unfamiliar with their own menu. As they were not able to repeat the order correctly at the time of ordering we asked him to write it down to avoid mistakes as we had 3 hungry with us. After 45‘ of waiting in an almost empty restaurant I asked where the starters were. We were told they come soon. 5 minutes later we got the starters together with the mains and to say it nicely, it was a total mess. There is no point in ordering starters if they are served with the mains. We ordered Pretzels and Obatzda, being familiar with German food this was a huge disappointment. The pretzel were heated, chewy and the for 30Dhs you get a mini-size pretzel with a margarine-mixed (no real butter!) cream, one heated to the extend it was melted and clarified, the other one semi-frozen with a big chunk of Margarine (lowest quality to taste at least). The pretzel were not even the real standard size, the dips absolutely inedible. The starters were absolutely disappointing. The Obatzda for 75! AED also came with mini pretzel. This is not even regular bakery size. Next we get to the Viennoise veal schnitzel which arrived at the same time. As the pretzels, they were mini size (see what we got and what was advertised- the lemon says it all) and regular thick schnitzel, not viennoise. Despite the fact that order was written down, the sides were wrong! So the wrong schnitzel went back and were heated for another 15‘ and returned again, chewy… This is how they tasted when returned. Also the mains were a huge disappointment. All in all, there was really nothing positive to say about this place. There was no supervisor or manager as they work only at night shift, only the core staff to manage 2-3 tables. The restaurant was aware of the issue but did not even try to make up or even say sorry. We were asked to leave our phone number. Fazit: The location and restaurant itself is in Rotana on SZR, maybe better for the hot summer months indoors. The decoration was done rudimentary, the table cloth and napkins were cut off a fabric roll and not even stitched, it was the first time we ever saw this. A little bit more love to detail would be nice as this is Dubai, and the ambience is really basic. It was empty so it felt a bit sad. The food was all very poor and basic too. If you ever went to any place in Bavaria (not even Munich but any village place, cheap, expensive doesn’t matter) you won’t find any place in business with such poor presentation, quality and size, let alone other places with a similar menu in Dubai. Worst is that they are misleading even on their own social media, which is a part of the disappointment as well as the comparison to the other places here and what they deliver for the same price. If you look at the Schnitzel and Brezel shown on the restaurant‘s own social media accounts and of the food received today, the discrepancies couldn’t be bigger and so the disappointment. Pricewise the restaurant is similar unfortunately not even close in quality and portion size - almost 20€ for a mini pretzel and obazda dip hardly edible is not ok, the same for the mains we had. Usually not doing reviews but this was really one of the saddest experiences in 15 years in Dubai and they asked for an honest review.

Genuinely amazing experience. I had the pretzel and the jager schnitzel, it was some absolutely amazing music. They started playing live traditional german music in person, and it really upped the atmosphere. Such an amazing restaurant, I will definitely be coming back.🙌🙌
